Paul bought a bottle of Domaine de Canton the other day, got creative with ingredients and designed his own unique cocktail. His love of ginger is only surpassed by his love of honey so this drink really showcases two of his most favorite flavors.
Just as important as what’s in the drink is what’s decorating it. What was first just a visually appealing curl of lemon peel, accented with lavender just cut from our garden, turned out to be an unexpected amazingly aromatic combination. Before you even take a sip, a relaxing wave of floral and citrus aromatherapy greets you, followed by the friendly bite of the ginger, the mellowness of the honey, and the sweet swirl of a bunch of other very secret ingredients that unfortunately Paul won’t let me share with you (just kidding, the exact recipe is below).
We still don’t have a name for it, but are open to suggestions!
Paul’s Ginger, Honey & Lavender Cocktail – Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz. Domaine de Canton
- 1 oz. Lillet
- 1 oz. reposado tequila (i.e. Cazadores)
- 1/2 oz. Crème de Cassis
- 1/4 oz. honey syrup (recipe below)
- 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
- ice cubes
- lemon peel
- lavender sprigs
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Shake until frothy and pour into a chilled glass. Garnish with a twisted lemon peel and sprigs of lavender.
For the honey syrup, stir 2 parts honey into 1 part very warm water and let cool.
